I was having a conversation with a very dear friend of mine and we talking about young person we both knew who has moved out on his own recently. Now at first he was doing very well however some thing happen that caused him some stress, but then some thing happen that got him back to right. Now you would think that would be a happy ending to a very short story. YOU SHOULD KNOW BETTER !!! We are going to say that he hasn't been taking care of business as he should. Now, this article is not about him it's about the conversation about him.
In this discussion she made several attempts to convince me that there was some deep reason why he was behaving this way. He's depressed, he's not challenge at his job, it's this, it's that. I said to her, " You know it could be a disease that you haven't consider. We all have come down with it from time to time and its as common as a cold." After thinking about all the diseases that she knows about and buddy she knows alot of them she determined that I had stumped her. "What disease is that?" she said. I replied with the deepest sincerity, " Maybe he coming down with an acute case of the FUCK UPS."
Now I can here the shock and horror of this type of language, but get over it. It's not like you never heard this word before, or that you never thought of this word, let alone said it. So now that everyone has gotten over their puritanical moment, I will continue.
You see, I have seen and experienced the disease many times in my life and you have too. My son, bless his soul, is the first and only child I know who has been suspended from day care. He has attended so many different schools in the area that he could be a tour guide for the local schools in the area. Right now he has to feel pretty cheap because everybody has had him. Nevertheless, We searched to see if there was somethin wrong with the boy. We had him tested ADD, ADHD, we thought he may dyslexia or maybe autistic, (he's a hell of an artist) but the test all came back negative. Then, on my own I discovered another known cause for such behavior, N.I.O.D. (No Interest Or Desire) which in turn cause a severe case of FUCKING UP.
We have all witnessed different cases and variations of this disease for example, you're taking spark plugs out of your car and you keep dropping your wrench and you have to crawl under the car and get it. That's a mild case of the FUCK UPS ( its like the hiccup's but holding your breath won't cure them.). Then there is the contagious strain. Man comes home, catches his wife with another man, kills the man and gets the death penalty for murder. The husband FUCKED UP and the boyfriend GOT FUCKED UP. This strain can effect groups of people also if they have host that is severely inflicted with the disease. We seen them in schools, at work and in our neighborhood. You have the host, the major FUCK UP, and his or her merry band of FUCK UPS. If you don't believe they exist, you need to look no further than the current white house administration.
Now the guy who goes to the casino and loses his car payment doesn't have a gambling problem, he just FUCKED UP. The guy who goes to the casino loses the car payment, borrows the money to pay the car note, goes back to the casino loses that, then sells the car and loses that and goes home expects his wife to understand. Now that is a man who needs professional help.
I guess what I am saying is every time we do something that causes us or someone else discomfort or pain, or even incarceration doesn't mean that the reason is deep seated in some mental or physical short coming you may have. Maybe, just maybe you just plain and simply FUCKED UP!!!
I may be wrong.......... BUT I DOUBT IT!

This blog had me slapping my thigh and laughing out loud. But Dom knows this ‘cause he sits right across from me at work, and sees me slapping and pointing at him and lol…
I love it where he says no one is exempt. Dom reminds me in a very poignant way of my own grandfather, who professed to be completely non-prejudiced. Said he hated everyone regardless of race, creed, color or national origin. I too, profess to be a member of the human race (and that’s plenty bad enough!) From the other side of the coin , Taj Mahal, paraphrasing Willie Dixon said:
I don’t go to baseball games
I don’t believe in calling names
I love everybody
I believe that the whole thing is the same
And as for fuck-uped-ness: I can own being a past master at the art. I spent several decades in a fog of alcohol and drugs, and until I owned my own issues, nothing changed. This is the other side of fucking up, that Dom describes in the second gambling example. The first kind, the simple kind is something we all do EVERY DAY. I don’t mean to pour any warm Jesus all over you, but it says somewhere in the bible that “the just man sins seven times a day.” It’s that human thing again.
I am really looking forward to seeing more posts here. You go Dom!
